The Delavan-Darien School District's Music Education Program has once again received national recognition for the 10th consecutive year. The district has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its unwavering dedication to music education.
In a statement of gratitude and celebration, a spokesperson expressed, "A huge thank you and Congratulations to our DDSD music department, Ms. Krizmanich, Ms. Anderson, Ms. RopersRosendahl, Mr. Butzow, Ms. Bayerl, Mr. Krueger and Mr. Stark." This acknowledgment highlights the collective effort and commitment of the individuals involved in the music program's success.
To achieve this prestigious designation, DDSD underwent a rigorous evaluation process. The district had to provide detailed information on various aspects of its music education program, including funding, graduation requirements, class participation, instruction time, facilities, and community support for music initiatives. These criteria were meticulously reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas to ensure the program's excellence.
The Best Communities for Music Education designation is a testament to the exceptional dedication of teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have integrated music education into the fabric of a comprehensive education. This recognition is reserved for districts and schools that exhibit an exceptional commitment to and accessibility of music education.
DDSD's consistent recognition over the past decade underscores the district's enduring commitment to fostering a thriving music education program for its students.
